Helen Marie Davis, age 92 of Springfield, passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2010 at the Eaglewood Care Center. She was born July 11, 1918 in Falls City, Nebraska, the daughter of the late James & Mary Jane (Drysdale) Martin. Helen was a long time resident of Champaign County and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Urbana. Preceded in death by her husband Benjamin Davis in 1974, 4 brothers and a sister. She is survived by 2 sons Damon Davis of California, James Davis and wife Susan of Springfield, 4 daughters Sharyn Morris of Springfield, Karryn Hart and husband Milbert of DeGraff, Libby Edwards and husband Gary of Cable, Connie Miller and husband Mark of Springfield, 25 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, 21 great-great grandchildren, a niece Debbie Galuska of Washington, as well as other family members and friends. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Oakdale Cemetery, Urbana. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the JONES KENNEY ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME, Springfield. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Second Harvest Food Pantry in her memory.

Jeffrey J. Brown, 57, of West Liberty, passed away at 3:50 a.m. on Monday, December 27, 2010 at Mary Rutan Hospital. He was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio on November 7, 1953 to Maurice and the late Johanne Wilson Brown. On August 12, 1995 he married the former Gladys M. Yoder, and she survives. He is also survived by a daughter; Sheila (Jason) Care of Springfield, Ohio; a son, Scott Brown of West Liberty; 3 grandchildren, Austin Care, Leslie Care and Ryliey Landon Brown; a sister, Sharon (John) Soleman of Marysville; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife Judy King Brown. A member of Oak Grove Mennonite Church, he worked at Honda for 27 years. He enjoyed competition shooting at the Logan County Fish and Game, being outdoors, restoring Oliver tractors, and he loved his grandchildren very much. Pastor Dick Barrett will officiate a funeral service on Friday, December 31, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Oak Grove Mennonite Church in West Liberty. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 30 from 4-7 p.m. at the church, and 1 hour prior to the funeral on Friday. Burial will follow in the Middleburg Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Oak Grove Mennonite Church. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Kauffman-Eichholtz Funeral Home in West Liberty. Julie Ann Sellars, 29, of West Liberty, passed away on Saturday, December 25, 2010 at 12:30 p.m. at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 4, 1981 in Aberden, South Dakota. On August 17, 2002 in Rapid City, South Dakota she married Daniel Sellars and he survives along with her parents, Randy and step-mother, Valerie Fredericksen of Kearney, Nebraska and Susan (Grinnell) (step-father, Charlie) Trobee of Hot Springs, South Dakota; daughters, Audrie and Kayla and sons, Owen and Myles all at home; brothers, David (Carrie Ann) Fredericksen, Spokane, Washington and Dennis (Cathy) Fredericksen, Dennison, Iowa; sisters, Alexis (Richard) Hucks, Eastampton, New Jersey and Angela (Mike) Lierman, Kearney, Nebraska. She worked for Springfield Prep & Fitness and was a member of Marysville Grace where she member of the home bible study group, worship team, pianist and singer. She was a 1999 graduate of Stevens High School in Rapid City, South Dakota, attended Black Hills State University, Ohio State University and Urbana University. She helped with Hi-Point Women’s Center in Bellefontaine. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Clancy Cruise at 11:00 am, Thursday, December 30, 2010 at Calvary Baptist Church, Bellefontaine where visitation will be Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Eichholtz Funeral Home, Bellefontaine. Burial will be in Heater Family Cemetery near West Liberty. Memorial contributions may be made to a children’s fund set up in their names at Honda Federal Credit Union or to the Hi-Point Women’s Center in Bellefontaine. Mary L. Jordan, 71, of West Liberty, passed away at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at her home. She was born in Urbana, Ohio on July 19, 1939 to the late Lyman H. and Leafy Forest Viets Sells. On November 4, 1955 she married George “Dick” Jordan in Urbana, Ohio and he survives. Additional survivors include two daughters; Theresa L. (John) Horsley and Cynthia M. Jordan, and a son Richard Jordan, all of West Liberty; 4 grandchildren, Amber Nicole (Chris) Drum of Dayton, Abby Lynn Horsley of Orlando, Florida, John Braden Horsley of Urbana and Justin Tyler Jordan of West Liberty; great grandchildren, Jaina Belle Drum and Haylie Marie Jordan; two sisters, Betty (Dave) Black of West Liberty and Beatrice Jewel of Marysville; two brothers, John (Isabel) Sells of Mechanicsburg and Jim (Sharon) Sells of Mutual; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by an infant sister and six brothers, Richard “Dick”, Raymond, William “Bill”, Bob, Lyman, Jr. “Buddy” and Forest “Smoke” Sells. She worked at CTS, Northern Floral and at West Liberty-Salem Schools. A wine connoisseur, Mary enjoyed walking her dog Lilly, working out at the YMCA, word search puzzles, playing video games, watching movies, especially Christmas and Disney movies, working in her garden, traveling and fishing with her husband. Pastor Dick Barrett will conduct a funeral service at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 26, 2010 at the Kauffman-Eichholtz Funeral Home in West Liberty. The family will receive friends from 1-4 p.m. prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made in Mary’s name to the Springfield Regional Cancer Center, 148 W.
