David L. Lapp, 73, of West Liberty, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at his residence due to complications of cancer and multiple sclerosis.
He was born on February 17, 1940, in Champaign County, OH, to the late Boyd A. and Ruth E. (Hartzler) Lapp. He is also preceded in death by a sister, Esther Kirkendall.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Lapp, a son, Richard (Diane) Stayrook of Belle Center; grandchildren, Ryin Stayrook, Kasie, Shane and Taylor Quay, all of Belle Center; his sisters, Sara (Ralph) Janzen of Buhler, KS, and Carol (Tim) Graber of Hurley, SD; his brothers, John (Jane) Lapp of Manheim, PA, Sam (Gail) Lapp of Crowley, TX, Joe (Sarah) Lapp of Anderson, IN, and Steve (Miriam) Lapp of West Liberty; a brother-in-law, Darrel Kirkendall of Bluffton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A 1958 graduate of Salem High School, Dave retired in 2000 from Honda of America, Marysville, where he worked for many years. He loved his tractors and loved to be outdoors working in his lawn and landscaping.
An 11:00 a.m. memorial service will be on Friday, April 26, 2013, at the Oak Grove Mennonite Church, West Liberty. Pastor Lee Ortman of the West Liberty United Methodist Church will be officiating. There is no visitation planned, and a private burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery, West Liberty.
Family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Universal Home Health and Hospice, 701 S. Main Street, Bellefontaine, OH 43311.

Rosemary A. Nisonger, 98, of Greenville, passed away early Tuesday morning, April 23, 2013, at the Oakley House in Greenville.
She was born May 5, 1914, in Darke County, daughter of the late Leo and Matilda (Stammen) Barga. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Nisonger, on July 30, 2003; an infant daughter, Margaret Nisonger; grandsons, Steve and Berry Nisonger; brother, Bernie Barga; and sisters, Donna Homan, Melita Barga and Vivian Barga.
A homemaker, Rosemary was a lifetime member of the St. Louis Catholic Church in North Star and the Rosary Alter Society of St. Louis.
She is survived by her children, Norma (Clete) Skrabak, of Everett, Washington, Susan (Don) Hughes, Manchester, MO, Kathleen (Joe) Marotta of Steubenville, OH, Roseann (Dennis) Parks of Atascaero, CA, Dan (Wilma Jean) Nisonger of Greenville, Tom (Ann) Nisonger of West Liberty, OH, and Dick (Aleta) Nisonger of Belle Center, OH; 19 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a brother, Jim (Pauline) Barga of Rossburg; a sister, Eileen Barrett of Naples, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, April 26, at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Louis Catholic Church in North Star with Rev. Fr. Jim Zink celebrating. 
Burial will follow in the St. Louis Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with a prayer service being offered at 3:45 p.m. 
The family requests that memorial contributions be given to State of the Heart Hospice or St. Louis Catholic Church

Darrell M. Gratz, 87, of Huntsville, OH passed away Wednesday morning, April 24, 2013 at Select Specialty Hospital, Columbus, OH.
Darrell was born on June 7, 1925 in Bellefontaine, OH to the late Harry E. & Ida Barnes Gratz. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Maurice and Cletus.
On March 9, 1946, he married the former Doris J. Morris in New Hampshire, OH and she survives along with two children, Ronald (Roberta) Gratz of Lebanon, OH and Lorraine (Jo Cook) Wilcox of Huntsville. Four grandchildren, Eric (Kelly) Gratz and Amy (Mike) Brobst, both of Powell, OH, Keely (Rick) Pummel of Russells Point, OH, and Kerri (Mike) Luttrell of Upper Arlington, OH, eight great grandchildren, Kyle, Ryan and Nicholas Gratz, Emily, Abby and Danielle Brobst, and Hayden and Owen Pummel, and three brothers, Dwight (Shirley) Gratz of Russells Point, Ralph (Janice) Gratz of Bradington, FL and Karl (Marsha) Gratz of Clearwater, FL.
Darrell was a 1943 graduate of New Hampshire High School. He was a member of Carpenters Local #372 in Lima, OH and retired from Peterson Construction as a supervisor. He was very proud to have worked on the Woody Hayes Athletic Center at The Ohio State University.
Private services will be held by his family at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be given in Darrell’s name to the Mary Rutan Hospital Pulmonary Rehab Unit, 205 Palmer Ave., Bellefontaine, OH 43311

Betty J. Banning, 86, of Lakeview, OH went to be with her Lord Tuesday night, April 23, 2013 while at her home.
Betty was born on May 18, 1926 in Lakeview, Ohio to the late Grover C. and Dollie Walters McGee. On August 18, 1943, she married William A. Banning in Bellefontaine, OH and he died on April 20, 1980. She was also preceded in death by a son, Ricky Banning, three sisters, Claris Neal, Doris Norviel, and Blanche Price Hartman, and a brother, Wilson McGee.
She is survived by three children, Sharon (Allan) Peters of Jackson Center, OH and Nancy (Harold) Kossel and Butch (Jane) Banning, both of Lakeview, seven grandchildren, Tamara (Curtis) Johnson, Connie (Rick) Reames, Kenny (Ashley) Miller, Rick (Kim) Kossel, Reva (Tom) Blake, Charlie (Jennifer) Banning, and Christina (Brent) Joseph, 15 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Betty attended Stokes Local Stokes. She was a member of Mount Tabor Church of God for 51 years. She was also active with the American Legion Auxiliary during its existence in Lakeview. She enjoyed traveling, reading her Bible and attending church and loved spending time with her family.
Funeral services will begin at 1:00 pm, Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Shoffstall Funeral Home, Lakeview with visitation two hours prior. Burial is in Greenwood-Union Cemetery, DeGraff, OH.
Memorial Contributions may be given in Betty’s name to Universal Home Health and Hospice Care, 701 South Main Street, Bellefontaine, OH 43311.

Angelee B. (Bailey) Reed, 84, of Urbana passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2013, in Vancrest of Urbana.
She was born September 16, 1928, in Urbana, the daughter of Albert and Hazel (Nease) Bailey.
Angelee married the late Dwight E. Reed on November 19, 1955, and he preceded her in death in 1987. She was a member of Eagles and The Moose of Indian Lake.
She is survived by her daughters, Brinda Shonkwiler of Mechanicsburg, Debbie Martin of West Liberty, Jeannie (Gary) Beatty of Urbana; sons, Chuck Reed of Urbana and Dwight Reed of Springfield; her grandchildren, Mandy (Kenny) Frost, Nikki (Brian) Shoemaker, Thomas (Malia) Hughes, Shelly (Brett) Yingst and Kelly (Tom) Cornett; numerous great-grandchildren; brothers, Donald Bailey (friend Roberta) of Urbana, Marion (Sue) Bailey of Urbana, Albert Bailey of Louisville, Kentucky; numerous nieces and nephews. 
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the many friends and caregivers who helped care for their mother, especially Peggy Shannon, Dixie Martin and the staff at Vancrest of Urbana.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Charles, Felix, George and Bill Bailey; sons-in-law Ron Shonkwiler and Bill Martin; and daughter-in-law Rose Reed.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, April 20, 2013, at 11:30 a.m. in Oakdale Cemetery with Pastor Carl Ogden officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Association of Champaign County, P.O. Box 38125, Urbana, OH.
Services are entrusted to Vernon Funeral Home.
