William E. Walston II, M.D., age 64, of Russells Point, Ohio, died November 28, 2012 at The Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio. Bill was born in San Jose, CA, and was raised in Los Gatos, CA.
He graduated from Los Gatos High School and attended San Jose State University, where he was an active member of Acacia Fraternity. He graduated from the University of South Dakota.
A former naval officer and aviator, Bill attended medical school in Guadalajara, Mexico, and completed his Fifth Pathway at the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine in New York. He completed his family practice residency at the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo and has practiced in community health centers and emergency departments in Northwest Ohio. Dr. Walston also completed five years of practice with Indian Health Services in Montana, Washington, Nevada and Arizona. He opened his family practice in February 2010 at the Aries Medical Center in Russells Point.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Dr. William Edward Walston and Lois Christine Walston of Los Gatos, CA. He is survived by his sister, Nancy Walston MacDonald, and her husband, Creighton, of Paso Robles, Calif.; his brother, Robert L. Walston, and sister-in-law, Linda, their children, Robert Andrew Walston and Amy Christine Walston, all of Spokane, WA.
Bill was an avid outdoorsman and hunted his beloved Irish Setters wherever he lived and traveled.
All services are to be private; arrangements by Schoedinger Funeral Choices, Columbus, Ohio.
