Matthew Bryant Stewart, age 19, of DeGraff passed away as a result of a car accident on Friday, August 3, 2012 near West Liberty, Ohio.
Born on July 21, 1993 in Springfield, Ohio, Matthew is the son of Cheryl and Chris Lozier of DeGraff and Bill C. Stewart II of Gadsden, Alabama. He is also survived by a sister, Kaitlyn Stewart of DeGraff and a half sister, Reagan Stewart of Dundalk, Maryland. His maternal grandparents are Linda Park of South Solon, Ohio and Bill and Eva Trimble of Grove City, Ohio. His paternal grandparents are Frances Stewart of London, Ohio and Billy C. Stewart I, of Gadsden, Alabama. He is also survived by his step-grandparents, Daniel B. and Marie Lozier of Springfield.
He will be sadly missed by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, his church family, his special friend Mariah Davis and many others. 
He was preceded in death by his step-grandfather, Donald Larry Park.
Matthew was a 2011 graduate of Graham High School, Saint Paris, Ohio where he was a member of Business Professionals of American and Students Making a Difference. He graduated with honors. Currently he was starting his sophomore year at Morehead State University in Morehead, Kentucky where he was studying the field of computer science and was a resident advisor.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in the ATKINS-SHIVELY FUNERAL HOME, 216 S. Springfield Street, Saint Paris, Ohio with Pastor Jay Yeager of the Vale Road Church of Christ presiding. Burial will follow in Myrtle Tree Cemetery, Saint Paris. 
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home. 
Memorial donations may be made to the Matthew Stewart Memorial Scholarship Fund. Envelopes will be available in the funeral home.
